Friday June 5th, 2020 opens Materiche, a group show realized in collaboration with M9, inside the courtyard’s space of M9 district, Mestre (VE). To the exhibition will take part the galleries of Venice Galleries View: Alberta Pane, Beatrice Burati Anderson Art Space & Gallery, Caterina Tognon, Dorothea van der Koelen’s gallery, Ikona Gallery, Marignana Arte, marina Bastianello gallery and Michela Rizzo.

Margherita Morgantin: VIP project winner of the 8th Edition of the Italian Council

VIP = Violation of the Pauli exclusion principle è il titolo del nuovo progetto di Margherita Morgantin prodotto da Xing e vincitore dell’ottava edizione del bando Italian Council, il programma a supporto dell’arte contemporanea italiana promosso dalla direzione generale creatività contemporanea del MiBACT Ministero per i beni e le attività culturali e per il turismo. In VIP = Violation of the Pauli exclusion principle il corpo e l’esperienza dell’artista entrano a fare parte degli strumenti scientifici utilizzati per la ricerca sul campo. VIP si articola tra il 2020 e il 2021 attraverso diversi gradi di coinvolgimento di vari interlocutori e del pubblico, oltre che di rielaborazione e presentazione dei suoi risultati.

Da lunedì 1 a domenica 28 febbraio il Centro per l’Arte Contemporanea Palazzo Lucarini Contemporary di Trevi ospita C.U.O.R.E. (Cryogenic Underground Observatory for Rare Events). Si tratta di un’esperienza artistica processuale di Margherita Morgantin, che si svolgerà durante il suo periodo di residenza operativa a Palazzo Lucarini. C.U.O.R.E. è parte di VIP = Violation of the Pauli exclusion principle, SOTTO LA MONTAGNA, SOPRA LA MONTAGNA, progetto vincitore della VIII edizione di Italian Council (2020), prodotto da Xing.

To prepare for the Boca Raton Museum of Art’s upcoming exhibition Glasstress, Kathleen Goncharov, the museum’s senior curator only had a narrow window of opportunity over the past couple of years to visit the Berengo Studio in Venice, which has helped organise the exhibition. First the Italian lagoon suffered from record-breaking floods, swiftly followed by the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, but during an opportune moment in 2019 she made it to the island of Murano to choose handblown glass sculptures designed by 34 contemporary artists, including Ai Weiwei, Fred Wilson, Vik Muniz, Erwin Wurm, Fionna Banner, Prune Nourry, Ugo Rondinone, and Joyce J. Scott.

Xing/Live Arts Week annunciano COSINUS (Venti cosmici), installazione di Margherita Morgantin che sarà presentata domenica 9 maggio alle h 17 presso gli Orti Comunali Boschetto Lungo Reno (Quartiere Barca), tra i main projects del programma di ART CITY BOLOGNA 2021 promosso dal Comune di Bologna nell’ambito di di BOLOGNA ESTATE.
L’installazione è una anticipazione della partecipazione di Margherita Morgantin alla prossima edizione di Live Arts Week che si svolgerà a giugno a Bologna sul Lungo Reno, ed è uno dei momenti di VIP = Violation of the Pauli exclusion principle, SOTTO LA MONTAGNA, SOPRA LA MONTAGNA, progetto vincitore della VIII edizione di Italian Council (2020), prodotto da Xing.

La montagna è quella che vedevo all’orizzonte ogni giorno da quando insegno all’Accademia di Belle Arti di L’Aquila, è una presenza lontana e discreta sullo scenario urbano che fa sentire una forte energia, e i miei occhi si sono abituati a cercarla come riferimento e apertura dello sguardo, prima e dopo le giornate di lavoro.

THE VENICE GLASS WEEK 2021

THE VENICE GLASS WEEK is the international festival that the city of Venice dedicates to the art of glass, with a programme that includes exhibitions, demonstrations, guided tours, online events and more. The fifth edition will take place from 4th to 12th September 2021. Beatrice Burati Anderson Art Space & Gallery has been selected between the art galleries taking part to the Festival and, for the occasion, it will be inaugurated the new exhibition space in Calle della Madonna, San Polo 1976, Venezia.

Luna et laguna, dipinti di Andrew Huston in squero a Venezia

Un triangolo di luce, un raggio di sole veneziano, d’improvviso invade il campo blu di un dipinto di Andrew Huston, artista di origini inglesi da anni trapiantato in laguna, appeso all’aperto dello squero Tramontin, dietro le Zattere, in quell’area di confine tra terra ed acqua utile a mettere in secca per la manutenzione le gondole e le barche. Un bagliore, un gioco di luce che subito scompare, offrendo per un attimola visione del lavoro di un artista che nella trasparenza, nella luce, nell’astrazione geometrica, nel richiamo con la tradizione remiera lagunare, con quei sei mezzi globi bianchi ai due lati del quadro simili a quelle forme dipinte sui paioli delle barche, ha trovato ispirazione.

VIP = Violation of the Pauli exclusion principle UNDER THE MOUNTAIN, ABOVE THE MOUNTAIN project by Margherita Morgantin, produced and promoted by Xing and winner of the 8th edition – 2020 of the prestigious Italian Council, is presented to the public for the first time in the DAMA LIBRE exhibition, on occasion of the entry of VIP into Ca’ Pesaro’s collections.
The VIP project, the result of the intense research carried out by the artist between 2020 and 2021, was born out of the observation of images of subnuclear and astroparticle physics in relation to artistic imagination, to personal sensitivity as a form of scientific data.

UNDER THE MOUNTAIN, ABOVE THE MOUNTAIN by MARGHERITA MORGANTIN

“VIP = Violation of the Pauli exclusion principle UNDER THE MOUNTAIN, ABOVE THE MOUNTAIN” is a project by Margherita Morgantin carried out between 2020 and 2021 in the Abruzzo National Park and in the Gran Sasso underground laboratories of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics. In the laboratory, located 1.3 km below the mountain, away from external radiation, scientists study dark matter, which would make up almost 90% of the mass of the universe and which is visible only indirectly, thanks to its gravitational effects. Margherita Morgantin tried to access this singular energy signal and with Sotto la Montagna, sopra la Montagna presents a long sheet of watermarked paper that collects an abstract flow of signs and paths, rolled up and then carried out on a horizontal display that integrates light and sound to the drawing. This superimposition of codes and transcriptions attempts to establish a dialogue between art and science to provide a testimony of cosmic silence and to tune in to a vision of the dark that gives body to the invisible.
