- Chiara Ambrosio
Chiara Ambrosio is a filmmaker and visual artist based in London since 1999, where she works with moving image, photography, and print to explore the ways in which we perceive, articulate, and remember stories—both personal and collective—as well as a sense of place.
Most of her practice is devoted to developing a framework or platform for alternative narratives, voices, and bodies, producing collaborative works that make visible what is often overlooked. Her work bears witness to and portrays what exists at the margins of dominant narratives—communities, landscapes, stories, objects, perceptions, sensibilities—excluded and marginalized for a variety of reasons, yet always fundamental to our understanding of what makes us human.
Her work, which includes collaborations with musicians, composers, and anthropologists, has been widely presented both nationally and internationally at venues such as the Whitechapel Gallery in London, Anthology Film Archives in New York, and the Cinémathèque Française in Paris.
