Emerging Italian art returned to the fore at Artissima, a fair held at Turin’s Oval from 4 to 7 November. Directed by Ilaria Bonacossa, Artissima brought together 155 galleries, which presented works created with different techniques, with a certain prevalence of painting.
Beatrice Burati Anderson offers a monographic stand by the artist Margherita Morgantin, dedicated to measuring wind and stars.

Beatrice Burati Anderson’s stand is minimal: there are two windsocks, one of which in damask, a small projector and some aluminum boxes that contain A4 sheets with some birth charts drawn. These are the works of Margherita Morgantin, a conceptual artist who works on the border between science, philosophy and spirituality and who has mixed all of these aspects in a year and a half research – also contained in the book published by Nottetempo “Sotto la Montagna Sopra la Montagna” . Morgantin spent a lot of time in the nuclear physics laboratories below the Gran Sasso, while at the top she realized a wind speed measurement performance. In her intent of restoring the content, under the mountain the scientific research at a certain point is unlocked and reveals the value of the unknown, while above is the more spiritual and magical dimension in which the windsocks make visible something that is not visible, recording the energy of the air.

Artissima has finally reopened its doors to the public of contemporary art for its 28th edition, with 155 galleries from 37 countries and under the direction of Ilaria Bonacossa.
Following a strongly curatorial approach, a trait that has distinguished Artissima for several years now, this year too the fair proposes a theme: Controtempo, a term borrowed from the musical field, which wants to emphasize the ability of the arts to “strike on weak accents by transforming them into points of strength “.

The presentation by Beatrice Burati Anderson is very interesting, with an elegant stand hosting two windsocks by Margherita Morgantin created in collaboration with Rubelli, a great example of collaboration between art and business.

In the context of The Venice Glass Week, Beatrice Burati Anderson Art Space and Gallery presented the exhibition – My Fragility, My Strength – until October 7 – inaugurating it’s new Venetian gallery in Calle della Madonna – San Polo 1976 in addition to the Corte Petriana Art Space. Two females, Marta Sforni and Nataliya Chernakova, in dialogue on the provocatory theme of seduction, considered in its complementary aspects of both force and fragility, of which glass – whether it is blown, cast or painted – is the perfect metaphor. The title of the exhibition is a tribute to the famous Pina Bausch’s quote ” Your fragility is also your strength”.

The VIP project, the result of the intense research carried out by the artist between 2020 and 2021, was born out of the observation of images of subnuclear and astroparticle physics in relation to artistic imagination, to personal sensitivity as a form of scientific data.
